On Sunday May 12, 2024, Brown County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible drowning off the beach at Mound Creek County Park. A 15-year-old male had been swimming, began struggling, went under the water and had not surfaced. There were witnesses to the drowning.
Emergency responders from the Springfield Police Department, Springfield Ambulance and Fire First Responders, Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Sandborn Fire 1st Responders, Windom Fire Department, Centra Care, Life Link, MN State Patrol, MN Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, assisted the Brown County Sheriff’s Office in a recovery of the 15-year-old male.
The victim received emergency medical services at the scene, where he was announced deceased at approximately 1738 hours. The male victim was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office. The victim is identified as Camron Keosaykham (15) of Mountain Lake MN
