Fire prevention week is October 8-14.
The Sleepy Eye Fire Department will be hosting special evernts on October 11th to celebrate Fire Prevention Week. The night will begin at 5:30 with Operation EDITH. The fire trucks will be driving around town with their light flashing and the sirens sounding. This is a reminder for resident to have a fire escape. Please turn your outside lights on in support.
The Open House begins at 6 p.m. and continues until 8 p.m. It will include door prizes, food, and beverages. They will have fire extinguisher demos, a smoke house, and a car extrication.
This Year’s Theme: Cooking Safety Starts With You
The department will also be selling t-shirts for the “21 Project” which is a fundraising drive to help raise money to restore Sleepy Eye’s first fire truck, the 21 La France.
