The circumstances surrounding his birth will be remembered by his parents for years to come thanks to Mother Nature.
“We were worried about getting to the hospital on time due to the weather,” said Emily. “We came two days early and stayed at the hotel because of the winter storm and road conditions. There were whiteout conditions south of Fairfax at the time.”
They remained safe—and entertained—from their hotel room, watching vehicle after vehicle get stuck in the hotel parking lot.
“Had we waited to come in (to Sleepy Eye), I’m not sure we would have made it,” added Eric.
Other than the weather-related excitement, Jakobi’s entrance to the world went as planned.
“Everything was quick, precise, and organized. We received excellent care from the doctors, nurses, and everyone else,” said Eric.
Emily added that she appreciates the small-town, comfortable atmosphere SEMC offers its patients.
“We really like it here, and Dr. Dhaliwal is awesome,” said Emily.
Siblings to the new bundle include Isaac Potter, 11; Molly Hildreth, 21; and Grant Hildreth, 23. Proud grandparents are Deb and Ed Nelson and Rebecca and James Hildreth.
The family received a congratulatory gift basket with an assortment of baby clothes, books, burp clothes, rattles, teethers, toys, and more from Sleepy Eye Medical Center.
