Memorial service will be 3:00 pm Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel with Pastor Dave Johnson officiating.
Ricky is survived by his life partner of 26 years Miranda Postel, of New Ulm; his mother, Mary Rost, of Sleepy Eye; sister, Kristin (Eric) Schwarzrock, of Springfield; niece, Layla Schwarzrock, of Mankato; nephew, Tyler Schwarzrock, of Springfield; and his second family, Michael and Carla Postel, Carissa (Joseph) Postel, Ava and Luke Niehoff, and Brandon (Cassandra) Postel all of New Ulm.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kent Rost; maternal grandparents, Engelbert and Evelyn Moldan; and his paternal grandparents, Walter and Maxine Rost.
Ricky Allan Rost was born October 11, 1978, in New Ulm to Mary Moldan Rost. He graduated from Sleepy Eye Public School in 1997. He then moved to New Ulm in early fall of that year where he resided until the time of his death. Rick was a very warm- and big-hearted person who had the gift of talk and would talk to anyone he would meet. He had many interests in life such as searching and looking up family history and genealogy, baseball, Vikings football but his biggest love was fishing. He was a devoted partner to Miranda. He always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by many but never forgotten. Blessed be his memory.
There will be a Celebration of Life June 3rd, 2023, in Sleepy Eye, MN.
