Richard Hentges

Hentges, Richard (Dick), age 86, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. Dick was surrounded by loving family the week preceding his death and will be missed by all.

Dick was born on August 8, 1938, to Stan and Eileen Hentges and grew up in Sleepy Eye Minnesota with his 4 brothers (Tom, Mike, Jim and Pat). He attended the University of Minnesota and was an active member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. On December 29, 1962, Dick married his college sweetheart, Carol Jean Meyer. They had 62 wonderful years together, raising 4 children (Kathy, Patty, Pete, Matt) in Edina Minnesota.

Dick enjoyed both playing and watching sports and spend many hours watching his children and grandchildren play hockey, baseball, softball and soccer. Dick worked for many years in the manufacturing sector, ending his career at Foley-Belsaw Company as the President/COO. Dick and Carol loved to travel. Their many trips included Russia, China and South Africa. During retirement years, Dick and Carol purchased a cabin on Potato Lake and spent many summer weekends entertaining friends and family and building wonderful family memories for their children and grandchildren.

Dick is survived by his wife Carol, his 4 children, Kathy (Pat) Tobin, Patty (Andy) Jeschke, Pete (Janae), Matt (Amber), 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20 at 9:30am followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic church 5071 Eden Ave, Edina.
