It wasn’t the Halloween blizzard of 1991, but the October 20 snowstorm that smacked Minnesota goes down as one of the biggest to ever hit the state this early in the season. Sleepy Eye had an estimated 5-6 inches of very wet, slushy snow causing early dismissal from school and the cancellation of fall sports activities.
