News from Sleepy Eye Schools Superintendent
by John Cselovszki
Sleepy Eye Public School is back in full swing after a well-deserved holiday break. I certainly hope that the winter weather will treat us a bit nicer than what we have experienced so far. I don’t mind the cold temperatures but like everything else I prefer it in moderation. We have a long way to go yet but I am hoping that we see a little less frigidity that we had the past month.
As we’ve reached mid-point of the school year we are currently collecting stakeholder data about our comprehensive programming. We ask the same questions year to year so that we can track responses longitudinally. We use the information to adjust our strategic objectives so your feedback is invaluable to us.
The high school is also starting the scheduling process for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. We have been reviewing new course offerings and other curricular matters so that we can put our final registration booklet together and allow students to pick their classes for next year. As the time comes near I ask parents to work closely with their child to determine what classes they should sign up for. I challenge everyone to select according to their post-secondary plan and choose classes that provide a foundation for the upcoming higher education years.
We are also making a final push to get ready for the upcoming high stakes testing. Teachers and students are working extremely hard to master all the standards.
Our winter activities are in full swing. All of our programs are continuing to show improvements and providing an excellent opportunity for our students to shine and represent our school and community. Please come and see them at our home games if you have the opportunity.
