Lois Clara Guggisberg was born January 25, 1939 to Elmer H. and Priska (Klossner) Guggisberg in New Ulm. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School. She was united in marriage to Eldor Berg on January 10, 1959 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and their union was blessed with eight children. In addition to being a mother, Lois worked at 3M in New Ulm. She also spent time working at Carl’s Corner, Wagon Wheel West, and other various places until she retired. When she was not working, Lois enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, playing cards, going to the casino and to coffee with her friends, and baking. She especially enjoyed going on trips with Eldor and all their friends in her younger years, as well as going up north to the lake with all her family. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Christian Mother’s Society, and Ladies Aid at Cathedral. Lois also volunteered many hours with Faith in Action and Meals on Wheels.

Above all else, Lois treasured all the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all of her family and friends. Affectionately known as “Ma Berg” to many, Lois will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the New Ulm Area Catholic Schools or donor’s choice.
