The early morning hours of May 16, 2024, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office was contact be the MN Fusion Center in reference a bomb threat that had been reported by a social media platform to the FBL National Threat Operations Section Exigent Threat Research and Analysis Team.
Upon receiving the information members of the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Sleepy Eye Police Department began investigating the threat, and contacting the Sleepy Eye schools. It has been determined there is no credible threat to the safety of students. The case remains under investigation.
