Joseph Sanow

  Joseph (Joe) Millard Sanow died Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the age of 44.

Joe was born on December 17, 1978, in Marshall, MN to Charles and Christine (Angermeyr) Sanow. Joe attended school in Marshall, MN and graduated in 1997 from the Marshall Area Christian School. After high school he went to Southwest Minnesota State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He later attended Hamline School of Law.

Joe met and married Lisa Hemmen in 2005. Together they had three children, Ellianna, Cobin, and Truman. They moved to where Joe’s job took him including, New Ulm, Sleepy Eye, and currently Worthington, where Joe was the Nobles County Attorney.

Joe was a hard worker and took pride in his job. He loved his family dearly, especially his wife and three children. In the past two years he found a love for riding motorcycles and it was his therapy after a long work week.

Joe is survived by his wife Lisa and three children, Ellianna, Cobin, and Truman. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Christine; sister Julie (Darik) Lyons; brother, William (Kristine) Sanow; father and mother-in-law, Eldon and Sharon Hemmen; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Matt) Hager and Trisha (Jarod) Rice; brother-in-law, Mark (Amanda Reisdorfer) Hemmen, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Worthington, MN, with Deacon Vern Behrends officiating. Casket bearers will be William Sanow, Darik Lyons, Mark Hemmen, Jarod Rice, Matt Hager, Kevin Palmer, and Phil Willardson.

Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
