Dorothy Krzmarzick

Dorothy A. Krzmarzick, age 95, of rural Sleepy Eye, Minnesota passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye Chapel with the Christian Mothers Rosary at 3:30 pm and Parish Prayers at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church-North Entrance in Sleepy Eye. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11:00 am and will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/stmarysleepyeye. The clergy will be Fr. Mark Steffl. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Dorothy was born on July 19, 1928, in New Ulm, Minnesota, the daughter of Otto and Anna (Braulick) Kral. She grew up in rural Sleepy Eye and attended school in Sigel Township and at Holy Trinity in New Ulm.

Dorothy married Anthony H. Krzmarzick on August 26, 1947, at at Holy Trinity Church in New Ulm. The couple made their home on the Krzmarzick family farm in rural Sleepy Eye. Dorothy and Anthony were married nearly 66 years until Anthony’s passing on August 8, 2013.

Dorothy enjoyed farming, baking, reading, cards, and bingo. She also enjoyed playing concertina with her family at local area nursing homes. She so greatly enjoyed extended family gatherings on the farm and loved her many dear friends at Divine Providence. Dorothy’s strong faith in Our Lord was felt by many.

Survivors include all of her 10 children, Kenneth (Eileen) of Stewart, James (Diane) of Naperville, IL, Peter (Connie) of Plover, WI, Michael (Emily) of St. Cloud, Jerome (LeAnn Hanson) of New Ulm, John (Deborah) of Broken Arrow, OK, Patrick ((Jacqueline) of Sleepy Eye, Sister M. Donna of La Crosse, WI, Lois (Keith) Ezzo of Canton, OH, and Leon (Janine) of Chandler, AZ; 27 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Leonard and Jerome; and sisters, Irene, Loretta, Gladys, Delores, Angeline, and Marion; and grandson, Robert.
