Delores Frericks, 92, of Wanda died on November 5, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. Visitation was on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda. Service was held at St. Mathias Catholic Church on Friday at 1 p.m. The clergy was Father Tony Hesse. Interment was at St. Mathias Catholic Cemetery in Wanda. Delores Frericks was born on April 12, 1930, in Wabasso to Carl and Caroline (Vogel) Plaetz. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Anne Catholic Church of Wabasso. She attended St. Anne and Wabasso Public School. She married Robert Frericks September 12, 1953, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Wabasso. They farmed for 10 years and then moved their family to Wanda. She operated the Wanda Food Market and was bookkeeper for Frericks Oil of Wanda. She loved to do crossword puzzles, watching the Twins, Vikings, and Gophers. She especially enjoyed fishing with her husband and spending family time at the cabin.
She is survived by her children – Jan (Stan) Brey of Big Lake, Dianne (Pat) Harkin of Sleepy Eye, Roger of Wanda, and Sharon (Bruce) Then of Maple Lake; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law Lucille Plaetz and Mary Frericks of Wabasso.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; son Robert, Jr.; brothers – Carl, Frank, Bernard, Lawrence, and Louis; sisters – Caroline, Johannah, Betty, and Margaret.
