Coach Comment: This was a great team win for River Valley. Jillian Mays had an impressive three-set battle at 3rd singles, and our 2nd doubles team of Delaney Rex and Bronwyn Sorenson showed incredible resilience in their 3-set victory. Our 1st doubles team of Chloe Okerman and Dani Junker had their best match of the season, showcasing their growth and improved teamwork and communication. A special shoutout to Selene Krohnfeldt for earning her first varsity singles win after playing doubles last year. Coach Comments: Our team faced some tough competition against Fairmont, but I’m incredibly proud of Taylor Berkner for her outstanding performance. She showed great resilience, winning her match in a thrilling tiebreaker. Brissa Hernandez also played well in a loss against Alison Slama, who I expect to be one of the top singles players in our section for years to come. Jillian Mays and our first doubles team of Chloe Okerman and Dani Junker fought hard in their matches, showing determination despite the losses. We experienced some ‘first match nerves,’ but I’m confident we can shake them off as we head into the Worthington tournament this weekend.
