Coach’s Comments (Ryan Hulke):
Until we stop turning the ball over 25+ times a game we are not giving ourselves chances to win games. We are losing games by an average of 11 points right now and averaging 29.3 turnovers a game. If we cut those down by ten a game and score on half those possessions, it’s a whole new ball game every night. This is very possible for us as so many of these turnovers are unforced.
Tonight was probably overlooked by Claire scoring her 1000 career point; but we did some good things but just too many obvious mistakes. We allowed SESM to go on a 16-6 between the ten and five minute mark in the second half that put the game away for them.
Jordan Anderson has won the KNUJ Offensive Player of the Year Award for the second consecutive season. Springfield’s Jeff Briard was Defensive Player of the Year while Glencoe Silver Lake’s Courtney Lemke was Volleyball Player of the Year.

Coach’s Comments (Brent Kucera)
- They were just bigger and stronger then us and had more bodies. They were the better team
- The best team we have played this year.
- It hurts losing this years senior class. We only had 6 of them but they were a high quality 6 guys. They did a lot for this team and helped us win 10 consecutive games. They finish their careers going undefeated at home the last two years. 12-0
- We couldn’t get our run game established and we were forced to pass in situations that we didnt want to.
- Turnovers also hurt us.
- The were a senior dominated team with 17…we only had 4 playing in the game and that makes a huge difference.

Coach’s Comments (Brent Kucera)
- MVL came with a good game plan and played hard. Alot of credit to them. They gave us a strong fight.
- It took a little while to shake the rust off. The penalties really got us out of our rhythm
- We are exited for the challenge against Cathedral. They will come and play their best game of the year. We need to respond from one of our worst games of the year.
- I expect both teams to make some changes from our first meeting. They are going to give their Horse Adam S. the ball alot more. He is definitely what makes their offense go. He runs hard and sets up his blocks well.
- This is the kind of game you want to be apart of. The opportunity to go to state and play against a rival with some history. You will see a big hitting football game.
- We will need to play better against Cathedral. We need to get rid of the simple penalties and play 100% from the first play to the end.
Defensive –
Lucas Heiderscheidt – 5 solo, 10 assists
Carter Krzmarzick – 3 solo, 9 assists, 1 sack
David Surprenant – 7 solo, 5 assists
- St. Mary’s claims first ever Southern MN A Football Conference title with 18-0 win at home against Springdfield 10/12
- Springfield had a good game plan and they came to play. This was the hardest hitting game we had all year. Springfield did a good job of forcing us into some key mistakes. I give them alot of credit. There D-Backs impressed me the most. They covered our pass better than anybody else this year. They have a good football team and they could be a dangerous team in the playoffs.
- Our defense won the game for us. They played stong the entire game. Our offense turned the ball over a few times and gave Springfield some short fields and the defense held strong and also forced some turnovers and got us out of jams a few times. Its great to see that when our offense is struggling the defense picks up the slack.
- On offense Springfield got us out of our Rhythm. They were forcing some poor routes on our receivers and they were attacking the run. When we did start getting into a rhythm and were getting a good drive going we would turn the ball over. We have to fix our fumbling issue. We cant afford to give good teams the ball for free.
- Losing Alex Mages early in the game hurt really bad. He has been anchoring the Right Tackle spot all year and was a good Senior Leader. I think that definately hurt our running game.
- Receiving: Sean Mathiowetz 4 receptions for 85 yards and 1 TD; John Brandl 3 receptions for 81 yards
- Rushing: Jordan Anderson 18 carries for 138 yards 1 TD; Mitch Neid 12 carries for 26 yards; Lucas Heiderscheidt 1 carry for 3 yards 1 TD
- QB Jordan Anderson 10/25, 192 yards, 1 TD, 1 Int
- Defensive: Carter Krzmarzick 5 solo, 8 assists, 1 sack; Nathan Lax 3 solo, 8 assists, ½ sack, 1 fumble recovery; Lucas Heiderscheidt 3 solo, 7 assists, 1 forced fumble

Team Record: 41-0
Accomplishments: Conference Champs (won all (3) legs of conference series meets in 2012)
Sub-Section 2A champs (won by 47 strokes)
Section 2A champs (won by 29 strokes and shot season best 368)
Average Score for 2012: 193 (trending even lower for 2nd half of season averaging 187)
(Indians led after the first 9 holes at North Links by only a handful of strokes over USC and NUC)
Best 18 hole score: 368 (at the Section 2A meet)
Carissa Hillmer: 1x All Conference Member. (Senior)
Average Score for 2012: 96
Season Low: 90 for 18 holes and 44 for 9 holes.
“Carissa always seems to play her best during the big meets and has really improved from last year.” She is a
very good driver of the ball and has really improved her short game since last season,” said coach Kaleb Walter
Anna Ibberson: Just missed Honorable Mention All Conference (Senior)
Average Score for 2012: 110.
Season Low: 103 for 18 holes 50 for 9 holes.
“Anna has done a nice job for us. This season was her first year out for golf since the 7th grade and if she had just one more season her scores would be much much lower”. Anna provides some great extra depth for us and she has been playing some really good golf as of late, her 103 during a conference meet and 106 at Sections are both very good scores that most any team would love to have.” said Walter.
Aileen Roman: (Senior)
Average Score for 2012: 118
Season Low: 118 for 18 holes and 51 for 9 holes.
“Aileen in her 2nd year out for golf has been a good addition to the team. Aileen started the season out on JV and with hard work, continued improvevement and a great attitude earned a spot on the team.” The team is really going to miss Aileen next season as she does a good job reminding everyone that golf is just a game and its supposed to be fun,” said Walter.
Emily Curtis: 3x All Conference Member. (Junior) Qualified for State Class A Golf Tournament back in 2010 as an Individual.
Average Score for 2012: 93
Season Low: 90 for 18 holes and 43 for 9 holes
“Emily has been the leader for our program for the past (4) seasons and its nice to see her scores continue to improve from
year to year.” Emily is an excellent driver of the ball and makes solid consistent contact with her irons. If Emily continues to
improve on her short game she will be shooting in the low 80’s in no time,” said Walter
Karrah Remus: 1x All Conference Member (Sophomore)
Average Score for 2012: 104
Season Low: 97 for 18 holes and 47 for 9 holes.
“Karrah is a naturally gifted golfer who posesses very good length off the tee and has made nice strides to become a very consistent player for us this season. If Karrah decides to spend a little more time on her game during the summer she could be a contender for an individual state tournament berth in 2013,” said Walter.
Lauren Laffen: 1x All Conference Member. (8th Grader)
Average Score for 2012: 93
Season Low: 89 for 18 holes and 38 for 9 holes.
“Lauren has improved her chipping and pitching immensely since last season. She also gotten a year stronger and thus
her distance has really improved as well. If Lauren continues to work on her game she should
have multiple state tournament appearances in her future,” said Walter
