at Sibley East
The St. Mary’s Knights kept their undefeated season (22-0) going by outlasting WEM 64-59 in a defensive gem at Sibley East to win the Section 2A championship. The Knights will now play in the quarterfinal round of state at a site and against an opponent yet to be determined.
“Wow, what a great performance by our team tonight,” said coach Bruce Woitas. “We stayed together and worked hard on the defensive end and got rewarded with a state tourney birth. I am very happy for our team and what they done all year long.”
