The St. Mary’s softball team completed a perfect regular season to earn the Tomahawk Conference championship. They are the number one seed in section play which gets underway for them May 25th. The Sleepy Eye Area Fastpitch Association dedicated the south home bench at Prairieview Ball Park to the late Maria Lux who was a avid fan and supporter of the program. A ceremony was held May 4th in between games of a St. Mary’s vs Sleepy Eye Softball doubleheader. Maria’s family was present to accept the honor. Also present were members of the 2016 16U ASA National Tournament team. Maria’s daughter Anna’s starred on that team. Maria passed away three years ago on April 25, 2020.
