Former St. Mary’s girls basketball standout Madison Mathiowetz will be competing in the Women’s Basketball NCAA March Madness Tournament for the second consecutive year after South Dakato State University won the Summit League Conference Tournament Championship. The Jacketsrabbits beat NDSU 67-54 Tuesday night in the championship game. Madison, a sophomore, was named to the All-Tournament Team

Five New Ulm Area wrestlers were named to the Big South All-Conference Wrestling Team on Tuesday.
New Ulm Area was the champion of the East Division and sent three wrestlers — Johnson, Nienhaus and Thompson — to the state wrestling tournament this past season.
Madison is a former Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Basketball player.
Sophomore Madison Mathiowetz garnered honorable mention recognition. She recorded 13.8 points and 2.5 assists per game in league contests while shooting .491 from the floor. With 2.4 3-pointers made per game, Mathiowetz was first on the team and third among Summit League players.
