Students honored for academic success during the 2024 spring semester
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL, Minn. (August 1, 2024) – The following students have been named to the 2024 spring semester Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, the university announced today.
To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.

A total of 8,586 students received degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison on May 10-11, including students from your area.
There were two live ceremonies, one for undergraduates at Camp Randall and one for all graduate degree candidates at the Kohl Center.
Keynote speaker and Badger hockey legend Meghan Duggan shared lessons learned during her ascent to Olympic gold.
“Failure is not final unless you choose not to learn from it,” Duggan said. “Since some measure of failure is inevitable in each of the journeys you’re about to take, I hope you react by learning what you’re willing to do to find your own version of success.”
Chancellor Jennifer L. Mnookin praised graduates for succeeding academically and being deeply engaged in solving problems in the world, in the proud tradition of the Wisconsin Idea.
“You and I can’t know today what questions each of you will ask in your lives and careers,” she said. “But I can tell you this: The questions that challenge what we are certain we already know to be true are often the ones that drive extraordinary innovation.”
Student speaker Gracie Nelson, senior class president, reminded graduates that, in the past four years, they had lived through COVID dorms, eight Taylor Swift albums, and three Badger football coaches. She emphasized that “it is not our resumes or the titles we hold that define us, but the depth of our humanity.”

ESTHERVILLE, Iowa (July 9, 2024) With more than 150 scholarships available and a high average award, students planning to attend Iowa Lakes Community College can overcome financial obstacles and receive a quality education. For the 2024 Fall term, the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation awarded 574 scholarships to 342 students, totaling $807,215.25 to date.
The recipients will each receive one or more scholarships with an average per student award of approximately $2814 from 83 scholarship funds funded by community members and businesses.
Iowa Lakes has streamlined the process of applying for financial aid, allowing students and prospective students to easily apply for scholarships online and ensuring access to as many financial resources as possible to support their education.
The Iowa Lakes scholarship application makes students’ lives easier by automatically matching applicants with all the scholarships offered through the Iowa Lakes Foundation that they are eligible to receive. Students don’t have to spend time searching for the right scholarships because a large portion of the work is completed for them.

The Academic High Honor and Honor lists (Dean’s lists) for the past spring semester at Minnesota State University, Mankato have been announced by Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs David Hood.
Among 3,679 students, a total of 1,150 students qualified for the High Honor List by achieving a 4.0 straight “A” average, while 2,529 students earned a 3.5 to 3.99 average to qualify for the Honor List.
To qualify for academic honors, undergraduate students must be enrolled for at least 12 credit hours for the semester.
