Services for Weldon A. Marotz, 91, of Stanton will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stanton. The Rev. Jason Schulz will officiate with burial at the Stanton Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Home for Funerals–Stanton is in charge of arrangements.

Weldon Arthur Marotz was born Oct. 12, 1932, in rural Stanton County to Hilda Schellpeper Marotz and Arthur Marotz. He was baptized Nov. 6, 1932, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hoskins, and confirmed April 28, 1946, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran by R.F. Bittorf.
Weldon attended church at Trinity in Hoskins until 1952. He then became a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Stanton, and continued as a member of St. John’s for the remainder of his life.
Weldon attended Bega School through the tenth grade, at which time it closed. He then went to Stanton High School and graduated with the Class of 1950.
Weldon married Lois Kuester on June 29, 1952, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in rural Wisner by the Rev. Hildebrand.
Children born to Weldon and Lois include Weldon A. Jr., Lynnette Rae, Michael M. and Todd W.
Weldon farmed grain and raised livestock until he moved to Stanton in December 1982. He continued to help on the farm for many years. He also worked security at Vulcraft for 11 years. He served on the St. John’s Church council for many years, SCS, ASC and Stanton nursing home board. Weldon was elected to the Stanton County Public Power District, serving on that board for 37 years.
Weldon was preceded in death by his spouse, Lois; daughter Lynnette Rae Marotz Barr; brother Maynard Marotz; parents; granddaughter Leslie Barr; brothers- and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Weldon is survived by three sons, Weldon A. Jr. (Debbie) Marotz of Bloomington, Ill., Michael (Diann) Marotz of Stanton and Todd W. (Jodie) Marotz of Sleepy Eye, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Barbara A. Pankratz, age 72 of Mankato, Minnesota died on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, Minnesota followed by a graveside service at St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield at 11:00 am. Shane Allan Sellner, age 28, of Willmar passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 10, 2024.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato. Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 17, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 632 S. Broad St., Mankato, with visitation one hour before at the church. Shane was born on November 10, 1995 in Mankato to Rick and Traci Sellner. He graduated from Mankato Loyola in 2014 and went on to graduate from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall where he was a four-year starter on the baseball team. Shane was joined in marriage to Amanda Broman on September 18, 2021 and they made a home in Willmar. They were blessed with a son, Isaac, on September 10, 2022 and will be welcoming a second, Andrew, in the upcoming weeks. Shane loved his job and coworkers at Rambow in New London where he was employed as a Sales Representative. Shane was a proud member of the Waterville Indians Baseball Team and loved to compete on the field, but, enjoyed the camaraderie off the field with his teammates even more. Shane enjoyed sports of all kinds – especially Minnesota teams. Shane had a wealth of friends from high school, college, work, baseball and the golf course. More than anything he loved Amanda, Isaac and Andrew, they were the light of his life.
Shane is survived by his wife, Amanda; son, Issac, and baby on the way, Andrew; parents, Rick and Traci Sellner; siblings, Bobbi and Luke (Clare Schmokel); grandparents, Patricia Stierlen, and Judy Christensen; father and mother in-law, Mark and Sue Broman; sister-in-law, Andrea Broman; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents: Pete Stierlen, Grant Christensen, LeRoy Sellner, and aunt, Jenny Cleveland.
Jane Ellen Gerasch 76, of Springfield, MN passed away with her family at her side on June 10, 2024. A celebration of Jane’s life took place on May 5 at the 6 East Smokehouse in Springfield, MN. Her children, siblings and their spouses or partners, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews came from Minnesota, South Dakota, Ohio, Michigan, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Florida to honor Jane. It was a day of showing Jane how loved she is, sharing memories and an opportunity to say good-bye. There will also be a memorial mass at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield, MN at a later date.
Jane Ellen Gerasch was born on November 22, 1947 in Lamberton, MN to John and Clara (Beert) Schilling. She was the fourth of twelve children She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda, MN. That is also where she attended school until the eighth grade, Jane attended Good Counsel Academy and graduated from Wabasso High School in Wabasso, MN in 1965. She then attended the University of Minnesota in Morris, MN for Criminology and Social Services for two years.
On February 28, 1970, she married Eugene Gerasch in Watertown, SD. They welcomed children Geno, Ernie, and Stephanie.
Jane worked at various jobs throughout the years including nursing home aide, Delmonte Manufacturing, 3M and nearly thirty-one years at Jackpot Junction Casino and Hotel as a Head Cashier before retiring in 2021 due to health reasons.
Jane was an avid reader, enjoyed Sudoku puzzles, bowling, board games and time with family. She loved to laugh and tell stories. Her laugh along with her quick wit made her a family favorite at any gathering. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; she rarely went anywhere without one of them.
Grateful for sharing her life are two sons; Geno (Jolene) Gerasch of Springfield, MN; Ernie (Sara) Gerasch of Volga, SD; one daughter Stephanie Gerasch of Sleepy Eye, MN. Six grandchildren Alex Gerasch of Mankato, MN; Austin (Amber) Gerasch of Brookings, SD; Ariana Gerasch (Mackenzie Barkley) of Ottawa, ON, Canada; Devyn Gerasch of Volga, SD; Anthony Gerasch of Sleepy Eye, MN; Machaela Gerasch of Volga, SD.

Margaret E. Guldager, age 93 of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2023, at Sleepy Eye Medical Center surrounded by her children. Margaret Ellen (Livingston) Guldager was born June 8, 1930, in Brookfield Township, Renville County. She graduated from Sleepy Eye Public High School in 1948. After graduation, she received her nursing certificate and worked at the Sleepy Eye Municipal Hospital. She married Harold (Red) Guldager on January 13, 1951, at the Congregational Church in Sleepy Eye. Margaret enjoyed homemaking, gardening, volunteering and most of all, spending time with her grand and great-grandchildren. Margaret’s faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has guided her through many personal trials and heartaches. Her faith, perseverance and strength will always be remembered and a true inspiration for her family and friends.

Jayson Lee Altmann was born on May 27, 1959 to Earl and Beverly (Steinhaus) Altmann in New Ulm, MN and passed away on June 3, 2024 in Moorhead, MN. The second of six children, he grew up on a farm near St. George, MN and in Sleepy Eye, MN.
He graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a major in Political Science with a minor in History. Jayson went on to work for MN District 1 Congressman Tim Penny for eight years. His creativity and talent as a journalist led him to work for the Herald-Dispatch newspaper. He also sold his cartoons to cartoonists across the county.
Jayson always said, “My biggest joy in life is my children.” Jayson was married to Linda Johnson and in this union three children were born, Sarah, Ike, and Hannah. He loved to go exploring with his kids and walking fast. (Any “last stall” parkers in the crowd?) He shared his passion for music and MN sports, especially baseball. His kids describe him as a compassionate human being with an eternal curiosity for learning.
He loved watching, joking, and having conversations about the MN Twins. He enjoyed opening baseball cards with family members and was nearly unbeatable at Fantasy Baseball. From a young age, Jayson was creatively inclined. He drew and painted abstract art. He was looking forward to soon having his artwork displayed in Fargo/Moorhead. He had a close bond with his mother and they enjoyed spending time together watching the MN Twins and several other TV shows.
Jayson’s other interests included watching Mystery Science Theater 3,000 (MST3K), “the Mysties”, befriending stray cats, playing chess and cards, collecting marbles, keys, postcards and records. Jayson’s love for music was only paralleled by his love for his kids. He would track and catalog his thousands of CD’s. He loved to quiz his family by playing ‘Name that Tune’ and asking ‘Who Sings This?’. ABC (Song/Artist) game anyone?
Jayson struggled with chronic pain and addiction throughout his life. In his final years he spent his time in recovery and moved up north to be closer to family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and being a part of their lives. He thrived and found a zest for life living close to them.
Jayson is survived by three children: Sarah Altmann (Wil Linebaugh) of Barnesville, MN, Ike (Nancy) Altmann of Mankato, MN, Hannah Altmann (Eric Hanson) of Madison, SD, three grandchildren: Evalyn, Caydance, Harper, five siblings: Jeffrey (Tina) Altmann of Sleepy Eye, MN, Tim (Robin) Altmann of Sleepy Eye, MN, Lisa (Barry) Hillmann of Sleepy Eye, MN, Kelly Altmann (Tim Lambert) of Eden Prairie, MN, Grant (Bridget) Altmann of Minneapolis, MN, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Saturday, June 8, at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with the service and time of sharing and remembrance at 7:00 PM. Funeral attire is MN sports clothing, your favorite band shirt, or any comfortable clothing. His cremains will be buried in the Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye, MN at a later date.
Alice F. Krzmarzick, age 83 of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at New Ulm Medical Center. A private family service is planned. Alice Fern (Harmening) Krzmarzick was born August 1, 1940, in Sleepy Eye MN, the daughter of William J. Harmening and Dorothy A. (Hilkemeier) Harmening. Alice attended Sleepy Eye Public School and graduated in 1958. She went on to nursing school in Mankato for one year at which time she married Norbert J. Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye on August 27th,1960. They made their home in Sleepy Eye with their four children, Julie Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye, Cathy (Jim) Moldaschel of North Mankato, Sherry Eigen (deceased) and Steve (Karen) Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye where they lived all their lives.
Alice loved the outdoors. She was busy doing activities in Girl Scouts and 4-H, hiking, kayaking, camping, and fishing with the family. She was a member of the ‘sister friends,’ and loved to travel. They went all over from Lake Superior to Glacier National Park to the Canadian Rockies and South Dakota. Gardening, nature, and bird watching brought her joy. Alice made sure to keep the bird feeders in her front yard full as she loved feeding all kinds of birds, especially cardinals and gold finches. We all looked forward to our annual flower shopping trip each spring. Alice especially liked her bubble gum and honey super petunias. She loved cooking and liked to try all the new kinds of cookware. Alice was always trying new recipes and wasn’t afraid to taste new and unusual flavors. Alice really enjoyed crafts. She was talented in quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing. She could make anything. She was in a group of ladies that would knit newborn baby caps in pink and blue that would be donated.
Alice is survived by three of her children, Julie Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye, Cathy (Jim) Moldaschel of North Mankato, and Steven (Karen) Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye. She has five grandchildren, Jim (Stephanie) Moldaschel of Judson, Daniel Moldaschel of Mankato, JJ (Nicole) Helget of North Mankato, Jessie Helget of St. Paul, and Justine Helget of Sleepy Eye. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, James, Grant and Aubrey Moldaschel and Abigail and Carter Helget.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert J. Krzmarzick; daughter, Sherry D. Eigen; parents, William J. and Dorothy A. Harmening; and brothers, Gilbert and Waldemar Harmening.
Armond Matthew Dorschner was born on March 22, 1929, to the late Wenzel and Mathilda (Moeller) Dorschner in Jackson County, Minnesota. He was baptized into the Catholic faith at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson. Armond received his education at the Good Shepherd Catholic School.
Armond met the love of his life, Nancy Malchow, at the Checkerboard dance hall. They were united in marriage on December 30, 1953, at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Armond and Nancy lived their life together on Nancy’s family farm, in Heron Lake Township. Their union was blessed with five children, LaDonna, Marie, Matthew, Debora, and Bradley.
Armond was a lifelong farmer, tending livestock and working the ground- growing crops for many years. Armond also worked as a carpenter for Ashley Leane. He enjoyed spending time each year in his abundant garden. He loved nature, casting a fishing line and ice fishing or getting to know the beautiful birds outside his window. Armond and Nancy had many memories dancing Polka together.
Armond Dorschner passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, at Pine View Assisted Living in Windom, Minnesota.
Armond is survived by his children, LaDonna (Curtis) Hoffmann of Sleepy Eye, Marie (Charles) Holland of Marshall, Matthew (Marjean) Dorschner of Lakefield, Debora (friend Dean Lemickson) Dorschner of Windom, and Bradley (Tosha) Dorschner of Kalona, Iowa; grandchildren, Rashelle (Trent) Weicherding, Jason Hoffmann, Kyla Hoffmann, Lance (Emily) Dorschner, Amber (Henry) Ombongi, Shane (Sarah) Dorschner, and Kristyn (Jay) Zabel; great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Carrick, and Carly Hoffmann, Zada Turner, Elsie and Jorja Weicherding, Wyatt, Ellie, Gracelyn and Sarah Dorschner, Keyan, Tristan, and Cysen Ombongi, Riley, Kevin, and Alice Dorschner; sister, LaVonne of California; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Armond was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Nancy Dorschner; parents, Wenzel and Mathilda (Moeller) Dorschner; daughter-in-law, Julie Dorschner; and great-granddaughter, Ruby Lee Weicherding; brothers, Leonard, Alden, Wayne, Ivan, John, and Ken; sisters, Dorthy Pavelko, Alice Groshens, Ruthie Lutterman, and Marion Herrig; parents-in-law, Wilburt & Bernice Malchow.

A Celebration of Life Service for Armond Dorschner, age 95, of rural Lakefield, was held Monday, June 3, 2024, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lakefield with Reverend David McDonald officiating. Burial was in Lakefield Cemetery.
