Twenty-one teams participated in the socially distanced 30th Annual Chamber Golf Tourney July 23 at the Sleepy Eye Golf Club. Winners included: 1st Flight – Mathiowetz Construction Co. (Chad Mathiowetz, Brian Mathiowetz, Brett Mathiowetz), 2nd Flight – First Security Agency (Mike Peterson, Kathy Haala, Zach Haala), second place – Schutz Family Foods (Shannon Schutz, Bill Eckstein, Ron Hormon) Not pictured: second place 1st Flight- Leader One Financial (Dan Zufall, Trent Weicherding, Tim Weicherding).

The group is pictured with Karmela Krenz who celebrated her 4th birthday. The parade honored Sleepy Eye and St. Mary’s Schools 2020 graduates.
Jody Hansen, daughter of Linda and Craig, was crowned the 2018 Miss Sleepy Eye at a coronation held for the first time at the Sleepy Eye Event Center.
Brianna Polesky (parents Carol and Brian) and Courtney Dittbenner (Joleen and Craig) were honored with the Princess crowns.
Abby Johnson earned the Candidates Scholarship. Abby also received special recognition for selling the most tickets.
Lauren Laffen was master of ceremonies at the event. She was joined at the mic by guest speakers Mayor Wayne Pelzel, former Miss Sleepy Eye and Aquatennial Queen Amanda Murphy, and 2017 Miss Sleepy Eye Courtney Engholm.
Jordan Marotz, daughter of Todd and Jodie, was crowned the new Miss Sleepy Eye at the annual coronation held March 22nd at the Orchid Inn.
Princesses crowned included Laura Pelzel, daughter of Steve and Lynnae, and Becca Schmitz, daughter of Tony and Lisa.
Schmitz was also the recipient of the Candidate Scholarship.
Marotz replaces out-going queen Bethany Berkner.
