Angeline Kral

Angeline “Angie” B. Kral, age 99, of New Ulm, and formerly of Sleepy Eye, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Ridgeway on German in New Ulm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 noon on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.  Father Mark Steffl will celebrate the Mass, and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye.

The family of Angie Kral has requested that masks be worn by all those in attendance, and social distancing guidelines be practiced.

Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is assisting the family.

Angie is survived by her daughters, Jean (Mel) Wendt of Elysian, Kathy (John) Hillesheim of New Ulm, and Margie (Randy) Kirchhoff of Glencoe; sons, Frank (Gwen) of New Ulm, Tom (Pennie) of Sleepy Eye, and Ken (Suzanne) of Sleepy Eye; twelve grandchildren;  two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and three step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 2001; her parents; and her brothers, Hugo, Raymond, and Frank Jr.

Angeline Bertha Hoffmann was born on May 21, 1922 in Sigel Township to Frank & Agnes (Schaeffler) Hoffmann. She attended Clear Lake Country School and was united in marriage to Edward Kral on April 9, 1951 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Together they raised their six children on a farm in Sigel Township. They moved to Lake Villa Apartments in 2001 and Angie resided there until moving to Ridgeway in 2015.  Angie enjoyed gardening, listening to old time music, picture puzzles, and card games.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye, the Christian Mother’s Society, and St. Margaret’s Catholic Aid.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice.
