Allen Rehbein

Allen Earl Rehbein, age 64, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 26, 2024, following a sudden heart attack.

Allen was born on November 10, 1959, in Springfield, MN, to Sylvia (Spiess) and Robert Rehbein, the second of five children. In school, he excelled at wrestling and had a passion for running. Later in life, he developed a heart for missionary work, which led him to the Philippines to spread the gospel of Jesus. Allen will be remembered for his beautiful singing voice, his love for animals, and his deep passion for the Lord.

A kind-hearted and generous man, Allen often shared his earthly possessions with others. As a young man, he would bring his horse to town and offer free pony rides to children. He also gave away the vegetables he grew in his garden, though he might hand you a hoe and put you to work alongside him.

Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia; his father, Robert; and his granddaughter, River Rehbein-Knoll.

He is survived by his siblings, Dennis and Rebecca Rehbein of Renville; Roberta and Brian Dapper of Lakeville; Brenda Rehbein (Greg Halvorson) of Gibbon; and Sandra and Richard DeRock of Buffalo Lake. He is also survived by his children: Jessica Rehbein (Marshall Anderson), Charles and Monica Rehbein, Amber Rehbein (Jim Ludwig), Katie Rehbein (Andy Weber), and Megan Rehbein. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Alexis, Marshall, Alice, Noah, Bransten, Erik, Rayliyn, Rosie, Jurzi, Evangeline, Gabriel, Jaela, and Matthew; and his two great-grandsons, Sirius and Leo. Additionally, Allen leaves behind two step-grandchildren, and special friends.

A celebration of life is planned for 3-6 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – South Chapel in New Ulm.
