Alice attended Sleepy Eye Public School and graduated in 1958. She went on to nursing school in Mankato for one year at which time she married Norbert J. Krzmarzick of Sleepy Eye on August 27th,1960. Alice loved the outdoors. She was busy doing activities in Girl Scouts and 4-H, hiking, kayaking, camping, and fishing with the family. She was a member of the ‘sister friends,’ and loved to travel. They went all over from Lake Superior to Glacier National Park to the Canadian Rockies and South Dakota. Gardening, nature, and bird watching brought her joy. Alice made sure to keep the bird feeders in her front yard full as she loved feeding all kinds of birds, especially cardinals and gold finches. We all looked forward to our annual flower shopping trip each spring. Alice especially liked her bubble gum and honey super petunias. She loved cooking and liked to try all the new kinds of cookware. Alice was always trying new recipes and wasn’t afraid to taste new and unusual flavors. Alice really enjoyed crafts. She was talented in quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing. She could make anything. She was in a group of ladies that would knit newborn baby caps in pink and blue that would be donated.
