Adrianna Marie Aguilar, 20, of Sleepy Eye and formerly of St. James, died July 9, 2023.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Sturm Funeral Home, St. James Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Adrianna was born March 25, 2003, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up and attended school in St. James. Her grandma Mary helped raise her to the young adult that she was. In 2016, she met Sergio Rangel and together they had two children, Mateo Armani and Kehlani Marie.
During her school years, Adrianna enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, and softball. At the age of 15, she started working at the Home Town Café where she enjoyed cooking, serving, and joking with Jim. Her most recent accomplishment included receiving her GED which she wanted to do for her children.
Adrianna was known for her smile which could light up any room. She lived for her children, Mateo Armani and Kehlani Marie and her nieces, Jocelyn and Isabella.
Adrianna is survived by her children, Mateo Armani and Kehlani Marie; best friend and soulmate, Sergio Rangel; mother, Renee Aguilar; father, Baltazar (Joyce) Aguilar Martinez; siblings, Tatyana, Devon (Riley), Jennifer, and Lilyana; grandmother, Colleen Savage; aunts, Tara (Javier) Sanchez and Amy Shupe; nieces, Jocelyn and Isabella; mother-in-law, Laura (Guillermo Ramirez) Navarrete; father-in-law, Isidro Rangel; and many other loving family members and friends.
Adrianna was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Shupe and grandfather, Gerald Ralph Olson.
