Oliver Trebesch is a junior at MVL and has been in FFA for three years. Oliver joined FFA to learn more about animals and crops. His favorite FFA activity is Trap Shooting. Oliver’s SAE is working at his family farm. He is on the Soils Team and enjoys going to the competitions. While being in FFA, Oliver has learned how to weld better. He is looking forward to the State Convention this year. An award Oliver is most proud of is winning 3rd place team for State last year in Soils and 1st place at the South Central College Soils Invitational.
Lily Kallevig is a senior at Sleepy Eye Public and has been involved in FFA for four years. Lily joined FFA to meet new people and to gain needed skills for the future. She is the Chapter President this year and enjoys being a leader and being a good role model for others around her. Lily is on the Floriculture CDE team. She likes the team because she gets to make floral arrangements and have hands-on and creative aspects to the competition. Lily’s SAE involves working at SouthPoint Financial Credit Union. Her favorite FFA activity is the Barn Dance/Lock-In. Since joining FFA, Lily has learned that FFA is for everyone and has endless opportunities. She is most looking forward to earning her State FFA Degree this year and going to the State FFA Convention to receive it. The achievements Lily is most proud of earning 1st place at State for Prepared Public Speaking and becoming a National Qualifier in this event.
Carson Sellner is a 7th grader at Sleepy Eye Public School and has been in FFA for one year. Carson joined FFA because his dad was in FFA and it sounded interesting. He is on the Soils Team and his dad was also on this team when he was in school. Carson said it is fun to judge the different soils. His favorite FFA activity so far is the Crop Show and making the samples. While being in FFA, Carson has learned a great deal about soil and how to make quality crop samples. He is looking forward to competing at State Convention and Timberland Camp. An award Carson is most proud of is being the Reserve Champion for the Junior High Crop Show this year.
Ava Sellner is a freshman this year at Sleepy Eye Public and has been in FFA for three years. Ava joined FFA to be involved in something that would benefit her now and in the future. Ava is on the Poultry and Best Informed Greenhand (BIG) teams and enjoys learning about all of the different events and people that has made FFA what it is today. Her favorite part about Poultry is judging the eggs. Timberland camp is an activity that Ava really enjoys in FFA and she is looking forward to competing at State FFA Convention for Poultry and BIG. While being in Ag Class & FFA, Ava has learned that there are lots of careers in agriculture and FFA helps you build skills for the future. The achievements Ava is most proud of is winning are earning 1st place in the BIG Contest at Regions, 3rd in Agriscience at State, and Reserve Champion for the Senior High Crop Show this year.
