Sleepy Eye High School Knowledge Bowl competes at State

The Sleepy Eye Public Knowledge Bowl team traveled to Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd to compete in the state knowledge bowl tournament.  This team earned their place at state by placing second at the section meet in Mankato.

The team consists of Seniors Paige Haala, Landon Wendinger, Damian Sanchez, Anna Johnson and Junior Mateo Hornsby. They are coached by Mindy Berkner, Troy Vangsness, and Alyssa Stevensen.

The state knowledge bowl meet had nearly 50 teams competing in all classes with Sleepy Eye participating against 15 class A schools.  The meet started April 10th with a written round that was preceeded by a formal dinner and banquet. The competition ended April 11th with five rounds of oral competitions.

Sleepy Eye ended in 12th place, having a great time and enjoying the experience.
