Generous Donation sends students to Como Zoo
The first and third grade classes from Sleepy Eye Public Elementary had an amazing day at the Como Zoo last Friday. They enjoyed seeing the animals, riding on rides, and pizza at the park on the way home. This entire trip was provided by a generous donation from an anonymous donor. Students, staff, and parents were all very grateful for this gift

Wig Day at Sleepy Eye Elementary School
The preliminary scores are in for our state testing in the area of math. The majority of all our students passed this test! The students worked so hard this year and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments. A wager was made by one of the classroom teachers that if they could surpass last year’s goal that a wig would be worn for the day. To honor the success and celebrate the accomplishments of our students and staff we all decided to have a wig day!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, our staff, Board of Education and all who have made this school year so productive for our whole school community. We thank you for your continued support in your child’s education. We could not achieve this performance level without all of us working hard together. We thank you for your support!!
St. Mary’s Celebrates Reading Success
The St. Mary’s Elementary School celebrated their 4th quarter reading successes on May 17th! The day included dressing in the sports attire of their favorite teams and spending part of the afternoon playing T-Ball (kindergarten), Tag (1st and 2nd), Kickball (3rd and 4th) and Softball (5th and 6th). The day concluded with the annual 6th grade dodgeball game, this year against the sophomore class! Photo on left: Second graders and their teacher Anita Schwartz dress in their Stark gear.
