The Brown County Humane Society will be holding the 21st Annual Dog Walk on Saturday, August 25, at the Humane Society at1301 South Valley Street in New Ulm. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the walk will begin immediately after registering.
Pledge sheets for the event can either be picked up at a number of locations, including the Humane Society, the New Ulm Chamber, Pampered Pets, Pets Playland, theNewUlmVetCenter, and Thrivent Financial onMinnesota Streetprior to the event. Pledge sheets can also be obtained by calling 507-276-5888.
The New Ulm Chapter and Tim Reinke, Financial Representative of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are hosting the annual dog walk so that 100% of the proceeds will benefit the homeless animals in the care of the Brown County Humane Society. The Humane Society is run entirely by volunteers and depends on the generous support of our friends.
Participants can walk with or without a pet on a 1 or 2 mile route. Walk-ins on the day of the event are also welcome. Walkers with donations of $35 or more will receive a free Brown County Humane Society T-Shirt. There will also be prizes and gifts from Pet Expo inMankato.
There will be a number of other activities, including face painting by Pastor Jeff Bovee, book signings by Jill Kalz (local children’s’ book author), pet portraits photographed by Sarah Kesslers or drawn by Kathy Willing, and a presentation by animal chiropractor Dr. Seth Nelson. CADA (Committee Against Domestic Abuse) will also be available to answer questions regarding their pet-fostering program.
Ask your friends, relatives, and neighbors to sponsor you. Collect your donations before coming to walk and join the fun.
