Duane Cords was chosen to be paired up with a professional fisherman and a
recently discharged MN National Guard soldier in Minnesota’s Second Annual
Trolling for Troops event held on June 8th at Mille Lacs Lake.
The event was co-sponsored by the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans,
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Upper Mississippi River Smallie Club, and the
Wounded Heroes Fishing program. These organizations recognize that Disabled
Veterans and Deployed Soldiers have served our country through the years and
deserve a day on the lake.
Cords who served in the Army during the Vietnam
era received tips from some of the best anglers in the Midwest; the advice
paid off as Duane caught this whopper of a Walleye.
