Community And Seniors Together, a nonprofit in New Ulm MN is launching a Lifelong Learning Institute in the Fall of 2012 named CASTLE. There will be three six-week terms in the coming year: Fall, Winter and Spring. Each term will begin with three courses. The CASTLE course list and instructors for the Fall and Winter Terms are as follows:

Aviation Lecture Series: Come Fly With Me
Begins September 9th with a demonstration of Remote Controlled Planes. Follows Sept 24 at 6:30 p.m. with a 5-week session Monday evening lecture and discussion series on Aviation. Led by David Koester, Tom Brinkman, Rick Apitz and Greg Peterson.

WWII Causes and Effects
Friday afternoons at 2:30 p.m., September 28 – November 2, learning and discussing the cause and effects of this war. Led by Professor Emeritus Lloyd Petersen.

Contemporary Scandinavian Films A 6-session course, Thursdays at 2:30 p.m., Sept 27 – Nov 1, featuring films that are among the most popular ever produced in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Led by Stephen Benson and Richard Jacobsen.

The Works of Hans Christian Andersen
Tuesdays, February 5-26th, 6:30pm. This course deals with symbols and social comments in these great, vivid fairy tales. Led by Professor Emeritus Roger McKnight.

Spiritual Health Leads to Emotional Health
Thursday afternoons at 2:30 p.m., January 10 – February 7. A thought provoking and encouraging look at the relationship between a dynamic spiritual health and personal emotional health. Led by Richard Jacobsen and team.

Theatre Improv
Friday afternoon sessions, 1:30 p.m. January 11 – February 8 with an evening recital Feb. 8th. Learning to improvise might be one of the most rewarding things you ever do and there’s no memorization necessary. Led by Paul Warshauer .

CASTLE, Community And Seniors Together Learning Environment, offers the opportunity for an adult to become a member of a community that learns for the joy of learning, without grades, tests, papers or long-term classes. This self-sustaining program will serve people without regard to previous levels of education and provide the perfect way to expand knowledge while meeting other like-minded adults. It’s college-level classes with no pre-requisites, at the membership rate of $95.00 per year.
