I believe my personal values and strengths will help me succeed in life when I use them to their fullest potential. I have good work ethic and know how to think on my feet. Living on a farm, I have gained valuable experience and skills that will help me throughout my life.

Why do you feel personal values and Strengths will help you succeed?  When I look at myself I feel my three greatest personal strengths and values are kindness, responsibility and perseverance. I believe if you are kind to others you will get kindness back. Being kind to others will also give great self satisfaction and fulfillment that you have done something good. I feel responsibility will help me succeed because if you are responsible you will get things done on time and completed to your best ability. This will greatly help me in the future as I go off to college and get jobs. I believe perseverance to get things done will help me to succeed greatly because I’m a big goals-setter and dreamer. If you have goals or dreams you will persevere to get them done and achieve everything you want to. Eleanor Roosevelt once said “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” I could not agree more.

Who was your greatest influence in life and Why? The greatest influence in my life has been my dad. My dad is a very hard worker. He never finished college which he said was the greatest mistake of his life. He did not let this affect him though, instead he knew he had to work harder to break even with the people that had. Now is he very successful and still works hard. He also influences me to set goals and strive to reach them. Every year before school starts he asks me what my goals are for the year. By the end of the year, I look back and see if I have reached the goals I have set and about 95% of them I do. I do not know where I would be without the influence of my dad in my life.

Why do you feel personal values and Strengths will help you succeed?   I feel that my personal values have been the same since I started kindergarten, however I’ve learned to handle situations and deal with others differently being an honest, trustworthy, faithful and positive person is key to success. I feel that the hardships I’ve went through got me to where I am today. I also feel that I am determined and have the self motivation to succeed in life. Just by having a good work ethic and study habits will give me the boost to achieve my dreams. My strengths are working and associating with others and keeping organized. Math and numbers are my strong point in school. The key to success is not only making yourself happy, but making others feel good about themselves too.

Who was your greatest influence in life and Why?  The person in my life who impacted me the most would be my grandma, Louise Forster. Ever since I was a little girl she always motivated me to do my best in all that I do and to be myself. When I would wake up from spending the night at my grandma’s, I would hear her singing and I would smell breakfast cooking. She has always been such a positive person from what she has all been through. I would go to Sunday adoration with her and help her clean the chapel; therefore she has brought me closer in faith. Although she has gone through several health problems, she still finds a way to get up and is always there for people when they need her. When I start my days of becoming an adult, I know just how to start off with a positive life because my grandma raised four kids as a single parent, with heart conditions, and volunteers her time to the church, yet is still there for me whenever I need her. The most important thing she has taught me,  that I will carry throughout my life, is that life goes on, and that you should live everyday like it’s your last because you never know when something could happen.

Why do you feel personal values and Strengths will help you succeed?   I believe that my creativity, curiosity and drive to succeed will aid me, as these skills will enable me to solve problems creatively, analyze arguments and opinions and continue toward my aspirations, despite obstacles, I may encounter. As a creative person, I’ll be able to offer unique solutions and new ideas in my work life. My curiosity will enable me to maintain a strong academic record in college and find an interesting niche to study. Finally, my drive to succeed will allow me to maintain a strong work ethic and make connections.

Who was your greatest influence in life and Why?  In life, my faith has been my greatest influence and over the year multiple acquaintances have demonstrated to me how God works through people. My grandmother, Vera Rossbach, was a huge influence to me when I was younger. Whether she was baking pies, sewing quilts, for newborns, leading a bible study or watching “SpongeBob” with me after school, she taught me the virtue and joys of giving time, talents or a sympathetic ear to others. My parents have influenced me by displaying patience and commitment toward my siblings and me, and they have helped me to develop my career interests by encouraging my involvement in extra curriculars. My mock trial coach, Pat Lowther, has influenced me by displaying encouragement and dedication in helping me to discover a different side of myself, with my new found enjoyment of public speaking (thru Mock Trial.). He had faith in my ability to progress and improve, and because of his energy and commitment, I now plan to pursue law as a career path.
