“Dream Big: Read” is the theme for the summer library activities at the Dyckman Library. The program features prizes for reading and for using your library card, some great guessing contests, a scavenger hunt and other reading related activities. These activities begin May 29 and will run through August 4.
Children who don’t read on a daily bases lose reading and writing skills over the summer. They aren’t able to “catch up” in the fall because their classmates are moving ahead. The reading program at the Library is designed to encourage children to read throughout the summer.
The “Dream Big: READ” program is open to children of all ages. There is no cost for any part of the program. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the library, pick up a summer program brochure and get their child started on a fun and educational summer.
Library hours are: Monday, 9:30-8pm; Tuesday, 9:30-5pm, Wednesday, 9:30-8pm; Thursday, 9:30-5pm; Friday, 9:30-5pm; Saturday, 9:30-12pm.
