The upcoming detour of all Highway 14 traffic on the west side of North Mankato will be a bit of a doozy, particularly during the morning rush hour, according to Minnesota Department of Transportation officials.
The good news is the detour is starting later than originally anticipated and won’t last as long — 90 days at the most under the current schedule.
The detour won’t start until around June 23 because Mathiowetz Construction — the winning bidder on the project to build an interchange at Nicollet County Road 41 and expand more than a mile of two-lane Highway 14 to four-lane expressway — came up with a strategy for doing more preliminary work with the road still open to traffic.www.sleepyeyeonline.com
