Temperatures reached 80 muggy degrees Tuesday afternoon, setting up the perfect scenarios for what would follow Tuesday evening….. storms saturated the southern and central part of the state. Sleepy Eye was the recipient of two big down pours. The second left knee to waist deep puddles on Southdale Aveue,  just northwest of Bic Norwood. At approx 10 p.m. police were dispatched to assist a vehicle that became stuck in the water. All occupants were safe and healthy enough to assist in pushing the car to safety.

On the east side of town, the ditch in front of Schutz’s Family Foods filled to the brim as light rains continued to fall.
