The Sleepy Eye Area Food Shelf is without a home after a water main break at the SE Municipal Building flooded them out on Feb. 1st. Items that were able to be salvaged are currently stored a various locations in the community while food shelf representatives continue to search for a new location.
At this point in time, Josie Rose, Food Shelf director, said there has been no discussions on where the site might move to or if they will be able to return to their previous home. Rose hopes something can be worked out, and soon.
Rose indicated she is still accepting cash donations for the SEAFS but asks folks not to donate food until further notice.
The public is welcome to share their ideas on what might make a good location. Josie can be contacted at 794-7130 or give Mark Kober a call at the City Office Building 794-3731.
