St. Mary’s Courtney Schneider and Sleepy Eye’s Sydney Remus were named the February Lion’s Students of the Month.
Courtney is the daughter of Kevin Schneider and Amy Wendinger while Sydney is the daughter of Steve and Darla Remus.

Why do you feel personal values and Strengths will help you succeed?
I believe that my personal values and strengths such as responsibility, great leadership skills, strong work ethic, easy going personality and an easy to talk to attitude will help me to succeed in my goals. All of these strengths will assist me in getting a solid education and then also in finding a secure job. Through my Catholic education, I have also learned the importance of God. I am confident I will be able to conquer any challenge that will arise.
Who was your greatest influence in life and Why?
The greatest influence in my life is my grandma, Hazel Schneider. My grandmother is the mother of nine children. She is a hard worker and a great cook. She made time for her faith. Her faith in God amazes me. During her lifetime she had dealt with many health issues, the loss of her husband and a daughter yet through all of this she had remained a strong woman of faith. She is extremely patient, kind and loving. She knows how to bring a smile to anyone’s face and she would literally give you the shirt off her back if you were in need. She encourages me to go after my dreams and to never give up. I hope to be as faith filled and as loving as her. She is a wonderful example to my family.

Plans Following Graduation: I plan on going to college for either Early Childhood / Elementary Education or becoming a neonatal nurse. I really enjoy being around children so I would like to pursue a career involving them.
Why do you feel personal values and Strengths will help you succeed?
A personal value of mine is to give one hundred percent in everything I do. This will help me succeed by learning to never give up and to know that my faith will help guide me in the right direction.
Who was your greatest influence in life and Why?
My greatest influence would have to be my brother, Sam. Sam is my greatest influence because he has taught me to not let obstacles get in the way of pursuing my goals and dreams. To overcome them I need to challenge them positively. His life experiences have shown me just that as he continues to add to his success in his business career. During his business career he manages to also maintain a healthy family life.
