About Doreen
Doreen was born and raised in Sleepy Eye until 18 years of age when she decided to blow this town and see the world! She joined the Army as a military policewoman and went on to marry Steve, who initially charmed her with his knowledge of the creation of the world. Doreen birthed three children, Jeremy, Tina and Emily, who are the lights of her life. In 1992, after 11 years away, Doreen moved her family to Sleepy Eye where she took a job with the local newspaper. Through her work, Doreen learned she could write stuff people liked to read. In January 2010, after her babies had grown and earned their college degrees, Doreen decided to earn a degree of her own. She is currently a junior at MSU – Mankato where she studying toward a major in English Education and minor in Creative Writing.
